Irish Manor

So what is Irish Manor Irish whiskey like? Well, it reminds me of The Tyrconnell in more ways than one.

The Tyrconnell

Irish Manor

It is a very soft whiskey, just as advertised. It doesn't have the strong hints of lemon and honey that the Tyrconnell has. But it is smooth and soft and has a similar character. I'd describe it as The Tyrconnell's kid brother.

  1. Soft, yes, smooth, no bite. Reminds me of he first time I had Herradura tequila. how do they make it so smooth and why doesn't everyone?

  2. Holy cow, it really does remind me also of Herradura and some of the high end anejo's we drank in Mexico! This whiskey is very smooth and excellent on the rocks.

  3. I STRONGLY disagree with the review AND the other two posters. The only thing smooth about this stuff is the exterior of the bottle.... Once, long ago, I made the incredibly stupid mistake of ordering a "Scotch" whiskey that was made in Spain... of (I think) rubber tyres. This is a little better... I think they took the steel out of the radials before boiling them down to obtain this crap. It has a finish like an enraged skunk, the softness of a sledgehammer and very, very little to recommend it at all (it DOES have alcohol in it, a definite plus... it helps one rapidly ignore the taste...) and is, in my estimation, usable primarily for cleaning creosote off long-haired dogs.

    Yecchh.
